Friday, February 24. 2017 -- Hundreds of family members of students attending schools in the Washoe County School District (WCSD) are expected to attend Family Access Day at the University of Nevada, Reno on Saturday, February 25.
Monday, February 20, 2017 -- The Washoe County School District (WCSD) Sexuality, Health, and Responsibility Education (S.H.A.R.E.) Committee has developed a new proposed S.H.A.R.E. curriculum for grades 4 through 8. As part of the curriculum development process, the committee is soliciting public input prior to providing recommendations to the WCSD Board of Trustees.
Friday, February 17, 2017 -- The Washoe County School District (WCSD) has worked with the Nevada Department of Education to form a plan for making up instructional time that was lost to school cancellations during dangerous weather conditions in the past several months. As a result, the District will no longer release students early on Wednesday afternoons, and Wednesdays will be regular, full-length school days. This decision will affect all WCSD schools beginning Wednesday, March 1, and continue through the remainder of the school year.
