1.    OPENING ITEMS

1.01       Call to Order - 6:00 P.M., WCSD – Administration Building, 425 East 9th Street, Board Room, Reno, Nevada 89512

1.02       Roll Call

1.03       Public Comment. Comments from the public are invited at this time on topics not specifically addressed elsewhere in the agenda. A “Citizen’s Request to Speak” card should be filled out and submitted before speaking during the Public Comment section. Individuals are limited to three minutes per item.  The Public Body is precluded from discussing or acting on items raised by Public Comment, which are not already on the agenda. The Public Body may impose reasonable restrictions on the format allowed for public comment. Written comments submitted for public comment may be submitted to the Public Body and will be attached to the minutes of the meeting.

1.04       Action to Adopt the Agenda (For Possible Action) – Items on this agenda may be taken out of order; the Public Body may combine two or more agenda items for consideration; and the Public Body may remove an item from the agenda or delay discussion relating to an item on the agenda at any time.

2.02      PRESENTATION ON THE ROLE AND PURPOSE OF THE STUDENT WELLNESS ADVISORY COMMITTEE, AND THE COMMITTEE’S OPERATING PROCEDURES AS DESCRIBED IN THE COMMITTEE BY-LAWS (For Discussion Only)

2.03      NOMINATION AND ELECTION OF A COMMITTEE CHAIR FOR 2016-17 FROM THE CURRENT MEMBERSHIP OF THE STUDENT WELLNESS ADVISORY COMMITTEE:  KELLI GOATLEY-SEALS, WARREN LEE, CARRIE LAMBOURNE, STEVEN SHANE, ANDREA GREGG, CATHERINE POLLEY, ANNA KANAROWSKI, STEPHEN WIGGS, FRED WRIGHT, TRACEY MARCUM, ALISON SIMCOX, SUE EGLOFF, AND TRISTAN MCELHANEY (For Possible Action)

2.04      NOMINATION AND ELECTION OF A COMMITTEE VICE-CHAIR FOR 2016-17 FROM THE CURRENT MEMBERSHIP OF THE STUDENT WELLNESS ADVISORY COMMITTEE:  KELLI GOATLEY-SEALS, WARREN LEE, CARRIE LAMBOURNE, STEVEN SHANE, ANDREA GREGG, CATHERINE POLLEY, ANNA KANAROWSKI, STEPHEN WIGGS, FRED WRIGHT, TRACEY MARCUM, ALISON SIMCOX, SUE EGLOFF, AND TRISTAN MCELHANEY (For Possible Action)

2.05      PRESENTATION, DISCUSSION, AND ACTION ON THE 2016-17 STUDENT WELLNESS GOALS: GOAL 1 – NUTRITION PROMOTION AND EDUCATION; GOAL 2 – PHYSICAL ACTIVITY; AND GOAL 3 – SCHOOL BASED ACTIVITIES THAT PROMOTE STUDENT WELLNESS, THE SUPERINTENDENT’S POSITION STATEMENT REGARDING THE GOALS, AND ACTION TO RECOMMEND ACCEPTANCE BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES.  (For Possible Action)

2.06      DISTRICT REPORT ON SMART SNACKS AND STUDENT NUTRITION INITIATIVES (For Discussion Only)   

2.07      DISTRICT REPORT ON STUDENT PHYSICAL ACTIVITY INITIATIVES (For Discussion Only)

2.08      PRESENTATION ON THE CURRENT STATUS OF VENDING MACHINES IN SCHOOLS, WHICH MAY INCLUDE DISCUSSION ON HOURS OF OPERATION, LOCATIONS WITHIN SCHOOLS, DISTRIBUTION OF FUNDS, AND PRODUCTS BEING SOLD (For Discussion Only)

2.09      DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE ACTION TO MAKE RECOMMENDATION TO THE SUPERINTENDENT REGARDING THE ITEMS THAT MAY BE SOLD IN VENDING MACHINES ON SCHOOL CAMPUSES; AND WHERE VENDING MACHINES MAY BE LOCATED ON SCHOOL CAMPUSES (For Possible Action) 

3.   CLOSING ITEMS

3.01       Announcement of Next Meeting: Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at 6 p.m. at the WCSD – Administration Building, 425 East 9th Street, Board Room, Reno, Nevada 89512
