The Communications Department offers media training for school and department personnel who will represent the Washoe County School District in media interviews. During this training, staff members learn how to anticipate and prepare for questions so they can effectively communicate information to reporters, and by extension, the community at large. Program Branding and Marketing Assistance
The Communications Department will guide you through market research and facilitate focus groups (adhering to Open Meeting Law guidelines) to assist in the branding or rebranding of a department, program, or school. These efforts result in a highly effective brand which may include a voted upon name, tagline, mission/vision statement, logo (with graphic standards and guidelines, etc). The Department of Communications and Community Engagement also aids in marketing efforts which may include: brochure creation, website development, social media strategy, video creation, TV and radio ad creation and contracting, digital campaigns, billboards, sky banners, athletic videoboards, booth presence at community events, and more.
