Look Listen Let Someone Know

We have a new campaign to keep our student athletes safe and we would like your help. WCSD strives to provide a safe environment for all of our students. Towards this effort, we have designed a new campaign to get support for students, families, and school staff that attend athletic events at our schools. We want everyone to watch for suspicious activity and photography/video of our student athletes.

As regular event attendees, you know who is taking appropriate photographs and video footage. In addition, the local media attends sporting events. The Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association (NIAA) had issued official name badges to all the media outlets. While working at a school event, the name badge must be prominently displayed. Additionally, school students and staff taking photographs and video will wear a matching badge holder (color coordinated with NIAA’s badge) identifying themselves as an official school photographer.

If you observe something that looks questionable or inappropriate, please contact a WCSD employee immediately. School District employees are in attendance at every school event. Often, WCSD School Police are in attendance as well. The district staff will handle the situation to ensure that our student athletes are in a safe setting. Thank you for keeping a watchful eye and open ear at school sponsored athletic events. Working together, we can keep the kids safe! If you see something suspicious, tell a School District employee. LOOK. LISTEN. Let Someone Know!
